Peacekeeper Wars small rant
Oct. 18th, 2004 10:36 pmMy family just finished watching the new 2-part mini-series of Farscape - The Peacekeeper Wars. Was fun and did a lot better job wrapping up the series loose ends than it was left before.
Okay, so I have to bitch about one thing. What the f**k was that birth scene? How does a woman give birth with her skin-tight pants still on? And if we thought they had cut them open for the baby to come out, then why were they back in one piece only a few minutes later? And then, it is so clear that people who write the scenes have never attended a birth -- what about the afterbirth process? I know if is just TV but sometimes the movie/tv land versions of birth and death astound me. No mess, no fuss, no stretch marks, so afterbirth and they come out shooting afterward.
Yes, it is a nit-pic but I had to rant somewhere.
Meanwhile, damn that was a fun show!

Attempts at a no-prize
Date: 2004-10-19 06:33 am (UTC)a) The clothing was Peacekeeper military garb (IS there any other kind?). Self-repairing?
b) Aeryn is Scebacean -- according to part 1, Scebaceans were modified from a Human base. Maybe part of the mods allowed Scebacean women to give birth, THEN go right back into battle?
b-1) Aeryn said Scebacean births were much easier. Does that mean that human infant heads are that much bigger than Sceb? -- harder to push out? At what point in human evolution were the samples taken offworld to become Scebacean? ... thingth to think about ...
c) How much time lapsed between the baby popping out and them marching away? Maybe a bit more time was cut than we the audience thought.
d) C'mon. It's *Aeryn*!
