Lungs Not Working Well Today

So I am wheezing so loud I wake myself up when I sleep. Not to mention the problem with getting oxygen. Yeah, asthma again.

The trip to So Cal was great but there is a good reason I never applied to school or work down there. I just can't breath what passes for air in the LA area. It started slowly but by the last night the asthma was getting bad. I need to make an appointment to see my doc to get some more prednizone since I only have a couple of pills left. I want to go visit again too. So I will have to talk to my doctor about possible preventatives. I take Singulair but apparently it wasn't strong enough to counter the smog of LA.

*hugs* I'm sorry.

I don't even have health issues and I couldn't breathe the one time I went to LA to see the Van Gogh exhibit. I don't know how people can stand it down there.

When I can't breathe....

I pull out the big guns. Prednizone and the nebulizer. I will never visit the Santa Anna Basin after early April precisely for the reason you spoke of. When I go, I go in the winter, when the weather and temperature help to tamp down the smog's effects. In LA, there are asthma warnings for the elderly and children to avoid going outdoors.
Preventative medications work under normal circumstances. If things get much worse than the every day stuffs, I always have to use the more immediate albuterol stuffs in tandem to the prednizone. Sometimes, there's nothing you can do to avoid not breathing well except stay away from the irritants.
