My Strange Husbands - Part Two
Apr. 11th, 2005 10:42 pmSo what were my husbands doing the other night? They spent the entire evening rerouting the cables for our "wireless" network.
Our household has several servers in the computer room. Then each individual has a laptop with their own personal "profile" to reach their email, documents, etc. We have had trouble with some bad spots in the network where the signal doesn't get through consistently including my den and the two upstairs bedrooms. So
airshipjones decided to move the system's antenna from the computer room to the living room (center of the house). Problem is that means stringing cables from the servers in the computer room, drilling through the two hall walls and across the ceilings of three rooms to hang the (ugly) cyclander that houses the antenna next to the entertainment center in the living room. They left the job half complete last night with cables dangling.
Good news? The move seems to have greatly improved connectivity for the wireless system.
Bad news? Cables running along my ceilings and a weird pod-like antenna in my living room. Not to mention the fact that since the project has not been completed yet, the cables are not secured yet. Sigh.
Amusing note? I love watching/listening to the chemistry between
airshipjones and
uncledark. They are so damn cute together, especially when they are almost bickering on how something should be done.
airshipjones curses, talks to himself distractedly and talks in half sentences.
uncledark gives a running sarcastic analysis along with supposed helpful suggestions. And through it all is the deep affection they have for each other. It is these strange domestic moments that remind me of how blessed my life is. I have loved them for 19 and 11 years respectively. I am still in love with both of my strange husbands.
Sounds like...
Date: 2005-04-12 06:34 am (UTC)It's times like this that you'll want to remember at the rougher parts.
Not only are you blessed, but you know that you're blessed. That makes you wise (like it or not).
