purplerabbitI am alone. In my own room. In my own big soft bed with soft black sheets, my favorite pillow and my vibrator. (Okay and my laptop.) I am home. Damn, I am very grateful to be home!
Yesterday was a nightmare come true. After packing way into the night Monday night and having to sleep on the hardwood floor, we came out to find the 15 foot rental truck GONE! Yes, folks it had been towed. To North Seattle. We had to take a $20 cab to get it. Then paid $300 in towing fees and fines. Then had to drive back to S's apartment and continue the nightmare packing marathon. We finally left Seattle at 5:30 PM. I was so glad to be out of there and on the road, that I drove most the entire night. I actually enjoyed it. It was dark, quiet and there was practically no traffic once we got out of the Seattle/Tacoma rush hour. I drove nearly a dozen of the 16 hours we were on the road. We only stopped to fuel the truck, get snack food and use the restroom. I spent most of the time without even the radio on, just thinking about my book. I was able to literally script most of the book in my head. I hope I can remember it all tomorrow. We drove up at 9:30 AM this morning. I was still too buzzed from the stimulant drinks to sleep. I have finally climbed in my bed with every intention of not moving from it for a very long time.
I want to publicly thank everyone who so wonderfully helped in the last week. Because my brain is currently fried and I can't think in terms of LJ names, I plan on doing that in a separate post after I wake up. In the meantime, just know how much your help and encouragement meant to me.
