Jan. 30th, 2005 10:35 amHot damn! And, oh my fucking god! And the readers will kill me! Evil chuckle.
A year ago I began writing my novel. The more strange aspect of this is that it is a rewrite of a novel I wrote thirty years ago. Thirty years ago, when the novel was 90% complete, someone burned it. Yes, burned it. The weird part of all of this, is that for the past year I have been a bit worried in that I didn't really know my ending of the book. I knew some thing about the ending, because I know some things about the story that follows it.
Today I woke up in horrible pain. Pain so bad that without even trying to sit up, I put myself in trance state and began getting some pretty intense visions of the book. (Vision might be a misnomer since these are full on sensory experiences.) After some really fantastic scenes from midway through the book, I realized the story has three sections. The first section I have just completed and ends when they leave the mountains. The second section takes place along the coast. The third section is when they reach the city. Nice to know the depth of the story arch now and to get a sense of how far along I am -- one third.
Then I got the ending. It was like being struck by lightening. Damn, damn, damn and oh, my god, I'll never get away with it. Gleeful evil laughter...
