Your Blessings Needed...

My Dissertation Committee Chair at the University of Iowa has agreed to present the request for me to be readmitted to the Department of Anthropology Ph.D. candidacy. In order to do this, she has asked for a prospectus of my dissertation by this Thursday. If I do this well, I have a shot at my dream. I could finish my dissertation, get the Ph.D. and if I am very lucky, return to my career as a researcher/writer/teacher. I really want this.

I am so nervous I keep getting dizzy and freaking out. Tonight, my family helped me create a dissertation spell candle. It is a very large purple pillar candle with the words "Ph.D." and "Professor" carved on it. In addition, we put invocations for the four directions: East - knowledge, words, writing; South - passion, inspiritation; West - understanding, clarity; and North - health, stability. We blessed my new writing room (what use to be the storage room) and anointed the candle. It is burning now. I will light it each time I work on my dissertation.

I ask of you your blessings, prayers, energy. Please aid me in this so important step in following my dream. If you my dear friends and family could each take a few minutes of your time to send me the power to do this important thing, I know I can. I am afraid, but I know with the help of those I love, I can do this.
