It's Official
Sep. 26th, 2004 04:17 pmI have sold my bookstore. The new owner signed the contract, paid me and took part of the inventory today. He will be back with a U-Haul for the rest of the inventory tomorrow. I spend about four hours going over the system with him and helping him set up the various website accounts into his name. His store "Colewood Books" is now up and running on Amazon.com, ABE.com and Alibris.com. By agreement, he has up to 8 additional consulting hours from me to help him learn the business. (Any additional hours he would need to pay more for.)
When the last of the book leave tomorrow, I hope to begin the process of setting it up for writing. I will be moving three of the bookcases from upstairs into the space and moving all my academic books into the bookcases in the store room. I intend to set up my sewing area at one end and my recliner and sidetable at the other. A room for writing! I haven't had my own room for writing since mom moved in. I can't begin to tell you how important that is for the process. Virginia Wolf wrote "A Room of Her Own" about the need for women writer's (all writers actually) to have a quiet place of their own to write.
Happy happy!
