Good weekend...

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] brian1789 for taking me to the county hospital clinic last week. I was able to get the prednisone and am breathing better now. Of course, I had to wait EIGHT HOURS to get seen by a doctor! Being broke and uninsured sucks!

Prednisone is fun stuff. I react to it like speed. Because of that I have accomplished a hell of a lot in the last several days. The house is cleaner, the yard work coming along nicely, the storeroom a little better organized and the side yard cleared out some. Thanks especially to friends [livejournal.com profile] fuzzydragon and [livejournal.com profile] weirdocatdragon for all their help.

It was delightful to watch Rowan and Victoria play and play. Rowan always amazes me with how loving and considerate he is of the little ones, especially Victoria. He takes being her "fairy godbrother" very seriously. (I am her fairy godmother.) He not only kept her entertained and out of trouble while the adults worked, he made sure she used the potty, fed her when she was hungry, and helped take care of her better than most adult caretakers. All with such love and kindness that is brings tears to my eyes.

He has also developed even more responsibility than before. In the mornings, he gets us, dresses, eats his breakfast, takes his vitamins, brushes his teeth and feeds the fish in the pond. All with no or very little prompting. He also decided that while Granny Mary is in the hospital, he and Daddy [livejournal.com profile] airshipjones would do the dishes. He was very disturbed by how dirty the kitchen was getting without her. Such a wonder to listen to him work with his daddies.

Saturday morning we racked out mead again. It is going very well. We also started a batch of cherry mead. Everything was going well until we went to put it all back in the storeroom. The 6 gallon carboy hit something and cracked. The pressure burst it open and mead went everywhere. It took the guys an hour or more to mop the mess up. They were able to save most of the methaglen mead from that batch. We are hoping to bottle in October. Please bring us your empty wine bottles! Also, if you have any carboys would would be willing to donate, sell or loan to the Warren, please let us know.

Saturday night was our Bardic. It was small and slow to start but turned out wonderful. Eight people joined us four rabbits in telling/reading stories, poetry and song. It was lovely. I look forward to doing it again in a few months. (Maybe choosing a weekend not as crowded with other distractions as Pride weekend.)

Today is a quiet day. The guys worked on [livejournal.com profile] uncledark's car this morning. It has had trouble since we got it but has been getting worse lately. Now [livejournal.com profile] uncledark is at work. We are suppose to clean Rowan's room today. He needs to get rid of toys he has out grown and make more room for his new interests. I have book orders to get out as usual. [livejournal.com profile] airshipjones is still job hunting and is currently online looking for prospects.

This Thursday/Friday we plan to spend some time in Santa Cruz with friends there. We also want to go to our sacred grove there in the woods. Saturday we plan to host a full moon ritual here at the Warren.
