Praying for the return of the light...
Dec. 18th, 2002 09:04 pmI cried so much yesterday that I had none left. Releasing the energy was good for me. Even my chiropractor was surprised had how much less tense my body was today. I had a good day. I got to do some errands with Lon. He bought me a root beer and a triple chocolate ice cream.
The household, all together - Lon, Troy, Mary, Alura and I -- sat down to a wonderful meal by Lon. Then we put in the tape of yesterday's new episode of Buffy. Then the phone rang.
My Aunt Dee, my mama's sister who I stayed with in Florida, has been in the hospital. She has been critical but stable for a week and a half. They tried to put in a tracheotomy today. She "coded" three times. It took them 25 minutes to get her heart started again. Then it stopped two more times. She is currently in critical condition and is not expected to make it through the night.
The keening wail of grief. Mine hasn't hit yet. Tammy called me, her fear chocking her voice. Then I had to tell Alura her grandmother is dying. (Her paternal grandfather died last month.) Then I had to tell my mom her big sister is dying. My Aunt Janie's wails were even more heart-wrenching. I also had to call my sisters.
Aunt Janie will call my uncles Gail and Dixon. My cousin Terry is in Germany, his wife Dru is with Dee in the hospital. Her husband, my Uncle Jim, was in the waiting room but while I was typing this we got the call that he has now been admitted to the emergency room. He is diabetic and his blood sugar dropped.
This year has been so very very hard. Please, please let it get better soon.
