Nasty head cold...

Well, I have been fending off the illnesses going around pretty well -- until now. Stress and an allergy attack broke down my defenses. I am sick with a nasty head cold.

Oh, that sucks! Take care of yourself, and I hope you get over it quickly.

Been slammed at work for the last 3 weeks. Everyone has the same complaints. This is a nasty bug that doesnt want to let go. Average sick time is 3 weeks. Many people needing to take two round of antibiotics. Hope you feel well soon. Try to get lots of rest.

Eh, just out of curiosity, what are the antibiotics for? Is this some kind of [secondary] bacterial infection? (If it's viral, antibiotics will do no good whatsoever.)

I'm feeling sick today too but from what I've heard, around here it's just a two-day bug. I hope that's the case!

Feel better soon, Dawn.

Yes, the antibiotics are for secondary infections. Strep throat and bronchitis, in particular, are attaching themselves to this virus. We are seeing many people who arent getting over the bronchitis with just one round of antibiotics. The very nasty bug currently going around, leaves the victim with viral symptoms (scratchy voice, tired, body aches, low fevers, sweats, etc.)long after the bacterial infection is cleared up.
I hope you have the two day bug too. Somebody wants a date with you!
Feel Well and Take Care.

Oh my goodness. I guess I'm lucky I've never ended up with a bacterial problem requiring antibiotics after getting a cold or flu.

Thanks. I feel a little better already. Maybe tomorrow I'll be almost normal again. :)
