Piercing help...

Thirty years ago, I got my ears pierced. I like having them that way. Unfortunately, I haven't worn my ear rings enough this year and they closed up. Anyone good at doing piercing who would like to come help me re-pierce them. I would like to do it in the same location, which is still mostly pieced but not all the way through. I am a bit afraid of needles but really want to wear ear-rings again. Let me know if you can help. Thanks.

I've re-pierced my own ears a couple of times, and I did many, many ear piercings when I worked on Telegraph. I have some practice with repiercing through closed-up holes, and possibly even some supplies. (I have a small set of piercing studs, which may or may not be what you want to wear for a few weeks while your ears get opened again.)

If you don't get an offer from some nifty professional needle-poker, I'd be happy to help. (I'd be happy to help anyway, but if someone who has all the supplies and does this stuff all the time offers, you might prefer to work with them.)

I know the good old-fashioned numb the lobe with ice then pierce with a sterilized needle method... If you have earrings that you know you won't react to (gold, sterling, surgical steel, etc.), that can work just fine...
