I am in love with my bathtub. For an amusing back story on this see this previous entry. Problem is that I find I use my tub less now because the drain stop is broken. It will not stay open unless you manually hold the latch. But is too painful for me to stand or even sit there holding the latch open while it drains. So I use it less and less. Anyone with plumbing skills able to help me out?

As a stop gap, perhaps a small rubber wedge of some sort could be fashioned to shove under the edge, so it is propped open?

Of course it has to be just the right size, big enough as to not be swept down, and small enough to let water around it and down the drain.

(I had the image of one of those rubber door stopper thingies, but in mini size.)

Hey just had an idea! - Perhaps cutting a "Pink Pearl" or "Magic Rub" erasure in half diagonally would give you such a wedge?
