I posted a new bio today...
Feb. 2nd, 2004 10:33 amWhat do you think?
----
"Life is pain and pleasure in equal measure."
"Energy undirected will find form."
The first line I wrote at fifteen, the second at age thirty. I still believe both are true.
I am currently a forty-something butch bi-dyke Pagan shaman/writer/teacher.
This incarnation of me found me in a female body, I have never seemed to get use to the idea, nor have I ever really acted in "culturally appropriate" in that role. I do, however, have a lot of fun with it sometimes. As for the "bi" part, though I have published on the topic of bisexuality, the word pansexual would probably fit my own sense of self more accurately. My own particular attractions run toward "those big sexy-wrinkly brains" which are most happily found for me in geeks of all genders.
I am amazingly partnered in this life's adventure with two powerful and loving bi-male geeks who have been in my life for 17 & 10 years. We are blessed with an amazing child of Faerie and we count ourselves lucky to be his parents. (He is currently age seven going on seventy.) We enjoy a large extended community of family-friends-lovers who bring diversity and love to us everyday.
I am a "theory-slut" with college degrees in Professional Writing and Anthropology. My advanced degree(s) focused on an integration of social science and more revolutionary theories including feminist, sexuality and queer theories. My publications are far ranging from poetry, short fiction and journalism in my youth, to edited collections in journals and books as an adult. Current works "in progress or desire" include a reimagining of a novel I first wrote 30 years ago, a collection of essays on the creation and care of urban villages, and a dissertation on the lives of FTM folks in the SF Bay Area.
If you want to know more, read my archives either here or on my webpages. Or email me.
P.S. If you put me on your friends list, please drop me a note telling me why. I am contemplating closing my posts to all but those whose identities and intentions are known to me.
