A Community of Love

Yesterday was one of those remarkable days that makes me truly grateful for my life.

First note: [livejournal.com profile] hopeforyou moved in on Monday. She has been without a permanent residence for a while and will be staying with us for a month or two. We invited her to help her out and it has turned out that she has been as much help for us as vice versa. She has been helpful, cooking and things, while I was so very sick all week. She was there for us when Sable was killed. And Yvonne was over that same night and [livejournal.com profile] cyan_blue came right over when she heard. So we had an impromptu "Honoring of Beloved Dead" that night. And the company of some of our extended family to help us through.

Starting Thursday evening, friends started showing up. Bring joy and comfort. [livejournal.com profile] mikz and [livejournal.com profile] cyan_blue came to visit. Then [livejournal.com profile] godmoma, [livejournal.com profile] tvleavitt, their two daughters and another girl (friend of the girls) came to have a sleep-over. [livejournal.com profile] uncledark was out for the evening, but their were still twelve people spending the night at the Warren. The amazing thing is that everyone had a place and was comfortable.

On Friday, [livejournal.com profile] fuzzydragon and his daughter [livejournal.com profile] dragonchild42 showed up. While he worked on the yard, the kids played. [livejournal.com profile] uncledark came home, [livejournal.com profile] grynz came over and set up to cut hair for us and other folks all day. [livejournal.com profile] deedeebythebay three girls came over to play too. Even as [livejournal.com profile] godmoma and family had to return to Santa Cruz. So the sound of children playing was a lovely background to the day. Most the adults spend the day working on cleaning the house and yard, while socializing. [livejournal.com profile] kineticphoenix showed up with massage table. So my room became a "spa" with haircuts and massage throughout the day. [livejournal.com profile] riseorbleed and [livejournal.com profile] bootkitten joined us and [livejournal.com profile] airshipjones returned home and we were able to have a moving short ceremony to bury little Sable in the rose garden, with a beautiful two-toned rose bush on his grave. Most folks went off to Wine and Song then. [livejournal.com profile] bootkitten was wonderful, volunteering to take [livejournal.com profile] fairieboy and [livejournal.com profile] dragonchild42 to the gathering so they could be with friends while the adults had some quiet time with [livejournal.com profile] inflectionpoint joining us. I got a hair cut, a massage, and an amazing day of love and companionship. I finished the night by gaming online while I listened to [livejournal.com profile] hopeforyou in the kitchen.

I am up early this morning because I had to say goodbye to my boy until Dec. 26. It was a blessing to have him out here for the last week. He will be boarding a plane back to Iowa even as I type this. I will probably go back to sleep for a bit. We have a busy day ahead with a social gathering tonight that we have to prepare for. I am feeling better on a number of levels.

Thank you for your love, support and comfort.
