fairieboy is home right now. He flew in Saturday and leaves Thursday. We were able to make this special trip for him so he can say goodbye to his grandmother who is dying of cancer. It is wonderful to have him close, despite the circumstances. And important to help him through his grieving process. He has lost a friend of the family in Iowa, a great-grandmother and a great-grandfather in the last few months. Now
airshipjones' mother.
I have been really out of touch with folks and not really attending anything. Besides the emotional issues around death and dying, I have also had a migraine for most of the last week. Pain tends to make me retreat into my quiet space. I have spent time with folks who wanted to hang out with me here. Just not up to groups or being very active.
Good news is that
airshipjones started the new job at Stanford University and he loves it. And they seem impressed with him. Please send positive energy his way. He hopes this one will go permanent. There is a three month probation period in which he is under contract and then he can be hired with benefits as a supervisor. It would be wonderful to have the kind of stability this would offer him for his career and all of us for our family.
