Just in case I needed a reminder...
Apr. 25th, 2006 11:28 amApparently, my body decided to remind me what the "dis" in disability means. Argghh.
I had a very productive day yesterday, so I had trouble sleeping last night and woke up feeling the effects of that proverbial "Mac Truck" hit and run. I was suppose to meet at noon with one of my co-presenters for this weekend's workshop. Luckily, the topic being about queer and disabled, she was forgiving of the need to reschedule. Probably more forgiving than I am of myself.
So what does it mean when my fibromyalgia flares up? Well, usually, like today, it feels like having the flu without the fever. I have deep body aches, nausea, fatigue, etc. In fact, the year before I accepted the diagnosis (I fought it), I kept insisting that I just had a hard to shake flu. So it is back to bed for a few hours, hoping medication and some rest will take effect and I will wake up feeling more functional. Sigh.
