Because people apparently need reminding...

You should know up front that I consider sending someone a written letter about a conflict rather than talking to them face to face to be incredibly rude and insensitive. If you have been someone’s friend, especially mine, I believe you should have the courage and the courtesy to talk with them in person about any problems you have.

The above is a quote from the longer piece you can read here...

I can understand how you might feel that way. However, it is always good to remember the other side of that....some people simply don't communicate well that way, getting flustered with in person communication and not ending up feeling good about it at all. For some of us, dealing with some conflict, especially if it is a light issue, dealing through a written format allows us to speak carefully and clearly. It isn't always about being rude and insensitive, its about communication style and confidence level.

How do you handle a conflict when you HAVE discussed an issue before and asked to have your boundaries respected, only to have those boundaries violated in the same way, again? That's the conflict I am currently facing.

It's too bad that distance sometimes gets in the way of that. I'd rather an email today than a face-to-face conversation a year from now.

This goes together with the post you made once about LJ not being an appropriate forum to hash out issues. I can't remember when you made that post...is it possible for you to repost it?
