Well, it seems to be official. The landlord has decided not to make the repairs on this house, but to sell it instead. Problem is that what they are asking is more than this house is worth. Certainly more than what we would be willing or able to pay. And with Troy still unemployed, we would not be likely to get financing right now. So the Warren has to move in the next 30-60 days. We are looking for a 4+ Bedroom, 2 Bath house with garage & yard somewhere preferably in the East Bay for less than $2500, preferably around $2000 a month with one year lease (that will allow cats).
We will have to pack and move everything! and your help would certainly be appreciated.
We are worried that without Troy having a job, it will be hard to find anyone willing to rent to us. So we also hope that happens soon too. So far, all four jobs he has interviewed with have turned him down. Sigh.
And since we don't have the money to move right now and we don't want to take it all with us, we are having several yard sales. The first two will beginning this weekend, Sat. Aug. 9th 9am-4pm and again Sat. Aug. 23 9am-4pm. If you are able to help with these, that would also be great!
If you can't actually come over and help, and even if you can, your good wishes, positive energy, etc. are very appreciated as well!

Date: 2003-08-10 10:02 am (UTC)By the way, it *is* possible to get financing without providing financial documentation. It's called a NINA loan, for "No income, no assets". The catches: (1) They're hard to find; (2) You won't be able to borrow more than 80% of the purchase price, if that much, (3) The interest rates are MUCH higher than normal.
I'd say it's only a good idea for people who have sufficient income or assets, but where the details are invalid for loan purposes. (One example: Someone who plans to sell a large asset overseas in the next year, and who has other loans to cover the mortgage until that event. Of course it's also good for drug dealers. ;) )
Anyway... good luck. If I'm available, I'll be there to help you move.
