The Rabbits Died

Warren and Matilda are dead. They were our pet dwarf rabbits. I found them dead in their smaller hutch today. We had taken them out of the big one to clean it and put them in the smaller one on the ground. We think that maybe a cat clawed at them. They seemed intact. I really didn't want to look too closely. But they were both dead and stiff by the time we discoved anything wrong. They will be buried under the rose bush I am planting tomorrow. We will be giving their things to a friend who has a rabbit. No more pet rabbits for now at least.

I had a bunny die the same way, in his cage in the backyard. The neighbor's dogs came over while I was at work.

Warren and Matilda had long (for bunnies) fulfilling lives, to be sure, and warmed the hearts of your many visitors.

Thanks for your offer to talk etc. I will be out at water exercise class tomorrow morning and I should be done around 11ish. Then I have a box of apples I need to process into apple sauce or apple butter. Would you enjoy helping with that process? I have an apple corer-peeler-slicer that you could turn the crank on, so no need to worry about your hands (Turn my crank, baby! ;^). I find it much nicer to can with someone to chat with.

Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry. ((hugs)) It seems to be a season of death, for some reason. Allegra's fish died a few weeks ago, and Alex (our cat) is on death's door from some unknown form of cancer. There's so much internal change going on in Akien and myself and our relationship that I hardly know which end is up from day to day. I don't know what all this says, or if it says anything at all, but I wanted you to know at least that I understand your loss.
