fairieboy was really good. We made a chore list for him to check off every day and he seems to have taken to it really well. He likes to know what are his responsibilities and he enjoys helping. He also likes checking things off the list.
redhatmary, fairieboy and I went adventuring and did errands yesterday. redhatmary wanted to figure out public transit to the Hayward Senior Center and the nearest library. We mapped it out both for driving and for public transit and figured it out. There is a beautiful Japanese garden next to the senior center. We got to go for a walk and really enjoyed it. Then errands.
fairieboy has been taking a Karate class at the local community center. I have really been enjoying watching but also feeling an itch to participate. When fairieboy found out that I use to do Karate, he got very excited. Tuesday night we stayed to watch the advanced kids class and then the adult class. fairieboy really wanted to see what I can do and encouraged me to try the adult class. I asked the instructor who said I could join the class in progress if I wanted. It was great! I picked it up very quickly and enjoyed the feeling of physcial strength it gave me. fairieboy was so excited, he practiced along side me. So now he takes Karate with me and guitar with airshipjones. I dropped the belly dance class since I did not like the instructor or the large class style. I am still taking and very much enjoying the Yoga class. So I have Karate on Tue & Thur evenings and Yoga on Wednesday.
Earlier this week we had a wonderful July 4th celebration with a Bar-B-Q at friends' house and watching fireworks.fairieboy was estatic. He got to play with friends and see the fireworks. It was a very good day.
This weekend we plan to go visitairshipjones' parents. His mother's cancer has returned and the treatments no longer seem to be working. We want to spend somet time with them. Other plans in the next month include trips to Seattle, Monterey Bay Acquarium, Fen Faire, Chabot etc.
Today is another day of unpacking and then Karate this evening.
