Ancient Ways

purplerabbitThe Rabbits are home safe and sound. We had a wonderful and relaxing week at Harbin Hot Springs surrounded by lots of wonderful people and the beautiful woods. Rowan's favorite part was getting to swim in the pool and run free in the main camp areas. Mine was probably the fact that other than driving the shuttle and participating in a great handfasting, most of my time was spent doing practically nothing.

kineticphoenix and riseorbleed handfasting. uncledark, airshipjones and I were the gate guardians for the ritual. Rowan was the "Flower Child". He dressed in his best Fairie outfit of the moment -- a rainbow tie-dye skirt with matching half shirt and a pair of blue and silver fairie wings -- and strewn rose petals 'round the circle and the couple. He also had a wonderful blessing for them, wishing them "happiness and magic." Before and after the ceremony, he spent his time chasing lizards (and catching them then letting them go) in the fire circle area. There is nothing more adorable than watching a fairie scampering around your circle chasing lizards. Meanwhile, the ritual was beautiful and our friends radiant. It was such a pleasure to see them so happy and so in-love.
Love was everywhere and I was so content in my family that I was happy to bask in the happiness of those around me as well. Great to see old friends and make new ones.
