Channeling pain and passion....

purplerabbitI once heard a writer friend of mine describe the process as cutting yourself open and bleeding on the page. If it is true that all experience makes a better writer, I guess my "interesting" life is good for my writing. So in true writer fashion I have spent the night channeling the passion and pain of this week into my novel.
Most of the first chapter is completely new work. Chapter two is a greatly modified version of what had been parts of 2 & 3.
Here are the current opening paragraphs of Chapter 1 - Meteor:
Bodies entwined, soft silken skin against skin, breath to breath; they were intoxicated with each other and with their power. Hearts pumping, lungs filling, senses reaching to join the universe around them, they shared their minds even as they shared their flesh. They made love to each other and to the stars. They were stardancers.
Augirae felt herself stretching out, her soul the very stuff of the stars. She was pure power and she felt it here more than anywhere. Planet bound she had to reach for the stars, here the stars reached for them, welcoming them into their fiery embrace. She was Augmentur. She was the star as her lovers were the planets. Her gravity pulled them together, set them spinning and allowed them their dance. Her heat gave them warmth to grow. She was the center of her own solar system and she felt that anything was possible.
She could feel each of them, their powers merging with hers and multiplying until all of them went beyond themselves. Even as her lips tasted the sweet sharp taste of her lovers, even as her body spasmed in ecstasy, even as her muscled contracted holding their bodies against hers, she felt her self spiraling through them, gathering speed and strength, pulling them all further into the spinning light. The state of purity went on without time even as their bodies fell into exhausted embrace, they danced in each others light.
