You're right; but there is no perfect answer. What may be healthy for one person is not healthy for another. Conversly, what may be detrimental to one person's well being could have no affect on another all together.
I think in general, you are correct. In a specific situation at the forefront of my mind, both parties are not psychologically healthy to begin with. In this specific situation, there isn't a best solution for all parties.
