So a couple friend with kids have talked to me about doing a trip to Disney World in Florida with out kids. I have been to both Disney World in Florida and Disney Land in California several times each. But in Florida there are more than one park and I have only ever been to the main one, the Magic Kingdom. I have always wanted to do the week on site thing with a different park each day. My son has asked about the family trip idea. I don't know if our finances or my health would allow it, but I really want to see if it is possible.
Today I called to check on what it would take. They don't do group discounts for anything less than 31, so probably have to go with the standard rates.
Lodging: Rooms on site range. The medium range ones are about $200 per room, double beds. So figure $50 per person for five nights. $250
Park Passes: You can get a 5-day park pass for $200 for those ten and under, $230 for the rest of us.
Airfare: Orlando can be pretty inexpensive through Southwest. Flexible about dates and we might get them round trip for $200 per person.
So figure $700 for lodging, transportation and park passes. Add food and incidentals and it is probably $1000 per person for the week.
So who would be interesting in doing this with us the summer of 2009 if we can pull it off?
