Tomato Soup & Broken Glass?
Sep. 26th, 2006 11:56 pmI was making Tomato Soup from scratch. First time. My tomato plants have produced a lot more than we can eat. I have never had home-made tomato soup, so I thought I would try it.
The last ten minutes could have gone better. Hand to forehead.
It started out simply enough. The only onion is not good. Threw it in the compost. So I had to take the chopped, pitted tomatoes and the garlic gloves and put them in something until I can get onion tomorrow. That should have been easy. Went out to the garage to get a large plastic food container and when I came back in, I just the door rather hard. Not slammed but firm. Seems the last person to get a wine glass out didn't secure the china hutch. The next thing I knew there was this horrible sound of crashing glass. It could have been a lot worse. I collect really nice cut glass (among other things). I lost one large cut glass bowl, several beautiful stained cut glasses and a small shot glass that use to belong to my dad. At least only one door opened and only one shelf dropped anything. But I hate the sound of breaking glass. And I hate seeing beautiful things destroyed. And I wasn't hurt.
airshipjones has taken the remains out.
