Complex day

definitely not my best day. Started out all right. Quiet, kittens, boy home. Good. Mom convinced me we should do errands. Good. Got some things done we had on the list including signing fairieboy up for the library's summer reading program and checking out books for his home study program this summer.

(Note: His home study program is his own invention. He wishes he could be home schooled by us, so when he is with us, we do just that. He picks things he wants to learn and I help him. This summer's three main topics are: 1) the Grand Canyon, since we are going there, 2) human evolution and 3) reading the Diary of Anne Frank. Probably a lot to tackle, but he wants these topics, so I am up for giving it a try. In addition, Daddy airshipjones is teaching him fencing and some more computer skills this summer.)

Okay, so the day was going well. Except that I forgot to eat before we went off to do errands, so by 2 PM, I had a bad headache. Then when my boy and his fairy-sister wouldn't give me the downtime I needed until I got upset with them, well, it turned migraine. Even after medication and a nap, I still feel queezy and in pain.

Then there was an accident involving Sable. Little kitten Sable got under foot and was accidently stepped on by fairieboy. He is favoring his right front paw/arm pretty badly. If not better by morning, we will take him to the vet.

So I am kinda feeling yucky. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. cyan_blue is scheduled to take fairieboy and some of this friends geocashing from 11-3 tomorrow. I have a hair cut and coloring appointment at noon, with an eye exam for contacts following it. I want to be ready for our trips this summer, starting with the Ancient Ways festival next week.

Kitten update

Kittens continue to delight and amuse. Cinder just jumped straight up two feet into the air to pounce on a toy mousey only a couple inches in front of her. Both cats have discovered the joy of batting with toy mouse. Amazing to watch how much stronger and more agile they get every day. Cinder gallops when she runs. Sable is more stealthy. And Sable's leg is still sore but seems to be getting better. Both will be going for their first vet visit tomorrow. Oh, and they are now at least twice as big as when we found them.

Tim Hildebrandt died Sunday. Most of us grew up with the art of the brothers Hildebrandt in posters, book covers and much more such as Star Wars and Lord of the Rings.

Color Changes

So, after finally breaking down and using Nail Polish Remover, I managed to get 99% of the black paint off my glasses. It may not have done the finish too kindly, but they work and they don't look so weird now. Not to mention I can see without spots before my eyes.

In other news, my hair is now dark purple.

Well, so much for the not looking weird part.

Is big brother listening?

So now that I have referred to our grey kitten as the Fuzzy Terrorist, does that set off some kind of alert in the Homeland Defense spy system? Is big brother watching? Does he have a sense of humor?
