Cuteness as punishment?

What ten year old could resist kittens? Certainly not my fairieboy. Which is why I forgive him for coming into my room at 7:30 AM to "check on them". Which meant they woke up and needed to fed. And then they wanted to play. How could he turn that down? And then, of course, it is hard to stay quiet among such play. Arrgghh. Tired Mama.

So my revenge was to show him photos and videos from simplykimberly LJ of her kittens. He said between the kittens here and the kitten videos, that the cuteness was eating his brains. Mama laughs the evil laugh.

PS Did I mention that said kittens climbed in bed with me to sleep last night and peed the bed? Sigh. Babies. Always messy.

RSVP Requested - FOOD FOR THOUGHT, Sunday, June 11 - Bardic - Songs & Stories

You are invited to FOOD FOR THOUGHT, a Salon hosted by Rabbit Warren (www.therabbitwarren.org). The Rabbit Warren Salon is a potluck social and special events night held every second Sunday evening each month at our roomy home in Hayward.

The next Salon will be June 11 at 7 PM. This month will be a Bardic – that is an evening of song, stories, poetry or other entertainment. We encourage anyone who is willing to entertain us. You can read old favorites or your own work. If you don’t want to read/sing etc, that’s okay. An appreciative audience is also important for the event.

According to Wikipedia: "The salon is a 17th century French idea, a gathering of stimulating and attractive people of quality under the roof of an inspiring hostess, partly to amuse one another and partly to refine their taste and increase their knowledge through conversation and readings, consciously following Horace's definition of the aims of poetry, 'to please and educate' (aut delectare aut prodesse est)."

People may show up at 6:30 if they like, dinner starts at 7. There discussion until 9 and possibly socializing until 11. We welcome and encourage people regardless of sex, gender, race, sexual orientation, age, class, disability, size, tradition, etc. If you have a disability and would need accommodation, please contact us so we can make sure things are comfortable for you.

To participate in the potluck, you will need to bring:

1) A dish of food and/or drink to share. We ask you put a note with the food detailing ingredients for those with food restrictions. (If you buy it, bring the label.) Meats are okay, but please clearly mark it for those who prefer not. Please keep in mind that these events will be drug and alcohol free.

2) A plate and flatware set to eat from. This is so we don't use up a lot of disposable paper products or have to do a lot of dishes.

3) Donation requested $2-5 each. No one turned away for lack of funds.

Please RSVP if possible. We like to know how many people to expect.

Party for Rowan’s 10th Birthday
Saturday, June 10th. 4-6 PM at the Rabbit Warren
The theme for this year’s party is Pokemon. (Costumes not required.)

General participation for cake and ice cream will be 4-6 PM. All ages welcome. There will be the traditional cake & ice cream, with presents. There is a playground in the backyard with a trampoline (& safety net). Please make sure that children are wearing clothes that are good for running around and playing.

Folks are welcome to bring food and/or drink to share. It always helps to have stuff to munch on. The backyard and porch area is also clean and set up for folks to hang out and socialize.

After 6 PM, a smaller group of kids in his age group will stay for a slumber party.
(If your kid is among those staying the night, please be aware a separate invite will follow this with more information about the slumber party.)
