Important Information, Please Note!
Aug. 25th, 2004 02:06 pmI sometimes wonder if posting here is even worth it but here it goes...
1) I am in PAIN! Every joint in my body hurts. I feel like there is ground glass in my hip joints. My leg break area is inflamed and my lower back feels like it has a knife in it. I am trying to avoid the narcotic painkillers as they inhibit brain function. If you missed it, I have fibromyalgia. (Look it up if you don’t know what it is.) I am having a flare-up.
2) Do not expect me to be able to cope with anything stressful right now! If you add stress right now, I will avoid you. It doesn't mean I hate you. I just do not have the capacity to deal with anything other than trying to get well again. Since stress makes the condition worse, your venting, deserved or not, will only delay my recovery.
3) No, I do not know how long it will take to get better! I am hoping that this flare-up is at least partially PMS related. If true, that means that when my period starts sometime this week, it should get better. There is no guarantee. Flare-ups can last hours or days or months.
4) Does that mean ignore me or avoid me? Well, actually, having fun seems to help reduce the tension and the pain. Do you want to watch a movie? Do you want to play a game or talk about something fun rather than processing? Great! I need relaxation to get better. I really could use time with people who remember how to have fun.
5) I rarely answer the telephone these days. Part of my stress is that most of the calls we get are bill collectors. We are in a really bad way financially.
airshipjones is on his third round of unemployment. We screen our calls. Problem is that being stressed out,
airshipjones has not been passing on messages to me. If you get him instead of the machine, please insist that he route your call to my voice mail. If you don't hear from me, call back.
