Mary Update

My mom redhatmary is back at the Warren. She is going to need a lot of care in the upcoming weeks. She didn't want to go to rehab. She prefers home. (Who wouldn't?) Visiting nurse and rehab folks will be coming a couple times a week. She is still weak, can't bend and is having some anxiety issues. Visits from friends are very welcome.

Also, we will be wanting to go places with Rowan while here is here, so folks willing to "house & mom sit" will be most welcome.

Ancient Ways Festival and return...

I had a very relaxing experience at Ancient Ways. I drove our new van (Chevy conversion van) up with Rowan. He likes the TV/VCR in back. It was hot since I haven't got the air conditioner fixed yet. We got there Wed. evening. We couldn't set up the tent, because the poles got left behind. Luckily a friend was willing to bring them up the next day.

uncledark drove the festival shuttle van up that same morning. He has taken on most of the shuttle service management in the last couple of years. I only had to drive my shifts and take care of Rowan. Rowan is so big and independent these days that he takes care of me too now.

I spent most of the week just hanging out with old friends and making new ones. I read a couple books, went to the Dragonstone ritual and was pretty mellow. I even met someone new who excited me mentally as well as in other areas...

As usual, we were ready to come home by Sunday afternoon. All but Rowan that is who always wants to know why we can't have festival all the time. We gave friend Doghood a lift back, visited mom in the hospital and came home to crash.

airshipjones had stayed home. Originally he was suppose to meet us on Friday. He stayed home that week to job search and to visit mom in the hospital. Mom had some problems with medication and anxiety, so he decided to stay home and be there for the weekend too. He also got the cold I had the week before we left.

At least he has been getting several calls and job interviews. He may soon have a job. That would help our finances a whole lot.

Monday we unpacked, got out my overdue orders and then went to see the new Harry Potter movie. We like it. Rowan loved it. Monday evening we brought Mary home.

Today was a quiet catch up day, tomorrow should be more of that. Thursday is my Madhatter's Tea Party. Friday evening is Yvonne's play. Saturday, Allegra will be sleeping over with Rowan. Sunday we go up to Ione to visit Troy's parents.

The next weekend, Lon's sister and her kids are visiting. We are also planning a weekend in Santa Cruz in the next month, and a week in Seattle in July.
