Anyone out in my area wanna bring me a salad?

I have been writing all night and day, and don't want to stop. Problem is that the heat is making it hard for me to eat. I need a salad. I big crunchy salad with lots of veggies (no peppers). The only vegetables in the house are canned.

Please feel free to drop by if you wanna feed the writing rabbit something fresh and crunchy.

Meanwhile, Chapter 7 is nearly 5,000 words and growing. So nice to be writing again. I had written six chapters so quickly and then it came to a halt. I worried I would not be able to get it back. I was blocked by one of the characters who seemed unwilling to open up and let me see/feel what happens next. I have noticed that some characters seem more reluctant to share than others.

PS - My usual caretakers while I write are not home. Uncledark is at work and Airshipjones is visiting his parents in Ione.

As both a tease and by way of explanation, here is a small paragraph from the chapter I am currently writing:

The brake in the storm still held when, at sunrise, they reached the outcropping where the strangers body still sat, a frozen white statue in a white landscape. The woman was practically naked, her skin was pale as the snow that eddied around her. Her hair fell straight and seemed to be made of the icicles that covered it. She looked like some kind of life-like ice sculpture.

Meanwhile, the temperature in here is around 90 F. The heat is overwhelming. I am experiencing weird flashes of empathy with the freezing characters in the story, only to be returned the the sweltering heat wave of my own reality. Urrgh, I think I am getting quezzy from the contrast!

And I keep craving salad and ice cream!

In full retreat from the house, I have moved operations to the back porch. I really wish we had a full awning. But the sun has gone down enough that it is shady now and the thermometer out here says its only 80 F. Even better, there is a breeze. I've never before tried to write on a laptop outside. I usually hole up in a dark room with complete seclusion. Headphones seem to be doing a good job of blocking out the neighborhood noises. So, back to the ice storm and the daring would be rescue...
