The sky is dark, bruised and sore.
Like the sun, I hide my face
And wonder at life's woes.
Rain like tears fall
Flooding out hope.
Darkness seeps into my heart
And cold settles in my bones.
I am drowsy and forlorn
Wishing to sleep deep in the earth
Waiting out the storm
Unfolding only when it is warm.
