Sep. 18th, 2005 12:25 amToday was a rough day. Nothing went as I hoped or planned.
airshipjones is still very sick. He says the medicine is helping but he is still weak and the cough is scarry.
uncledark was still on an overnight with friends out of town. And he had to work extra this week as well.
Although
fuzzydragon was wonderful in helping me clear out the garage and begin the real sorting and storing of the rest of our stuff, there is still so much to be done. And many of the tasks require help. I am not safe on a ladder or step stool. Some things are just two person jobs. I am overwhelmed by the list of things still to be done before the rains begin. We still have a lot of boxes yet to sort, unpack or store in the attick.
In addition to the work on the garage,
fuzzydragon helped me put away the trampoline and clear the yard. The guy was suppose to come till the yard today so we can put in grass and start the garden. Turns out he can't some until Friday.
The big upset of the day was really about Oberon, my cat. In the middle of the night, he came in looking very messed up. He was hunched over, partially dragging his hind end, tail down between his legs and covered in matted dirt. He had been fine earlier in the day. When I brushed out his fur, I also found a puncture wound in this side. It seems that he may have either fallen from a fence/roof or been hit by a car. So I took him in for xrays etc. $350 vet bill. They were worried that his back might have had a fracture. Nothing on the xrays. He is on antibiotics and pain medication and we are to keep him in this week.
There were a dozen smaller disappointments through the day too. Just not a good day. I ended up pretty stressed out. Probably intensified by the reaction to prednizone. I finally went to my room and took a nap. I am learning that the best way to handle it when I feel I am loosing my emotional balance is to retreat and rest.
If anyone would like to help me out this week, I could sorely use it. Sometimes just the company is nice while I work.
I need to keep unpacking the huge pile of boxes on my back porch.
I need help putting some more things in the attic.
I need help with about a dozen small "fix-it" projects around the house.
Well, at least the bardic is Sunday evening. I am looking forward to the social time.

Date: 2005-09-18 04:47 pm (UTC)Tomorrow (Monday) we're scheduled to have time together, so I'll come over and help you 'round the house then, as soon as you call and let me know that you're awake. I won't be able to be at tonight's Salon, but you've got my help tomorrow.
